CREATIVITY AND PROBLEM SOLVING ON STEROIDS

Every day, leaders, managers and employees face the phenomenon of VUCA - chaos, a conglomerate of Volatility - Uncertainty - Complexity - Ambiguity of the business and social environment. Every day they have to face them solving old and new problems or even design completely new solutions.

Quick and effective dealing with problems and designing new solutions has become more important than ever

5 REASONS WHY IT'S WORTH TO DO IT NOW

  • During a pandemic, there are even more problems and solving them even more difficult due to their excess and dispersion of employees

  • The pandemic and the slowdown time is an opportunity to strengthen the organization, because there will never be greater understanding and acceptance of changes as now.

  • Certainly, many elements in the organization have emerged that require changes and adaptation to the new normality.

  • It is also worth mobilizing a team. It is worth taking care of it, working out the best solutions together, motivating and building employee commitment

  • Because you still need to prepare your organization for greater dynamics of change - make your company VUCA READY

5 REASONS WHY THE METHODS YOU KNOW DO NOT WORK

  • The methods are unknown - probably 9 out of 10 readers do not know any other methods than the Fishbone, 5xWhy.

  • Those that are known define the cause of the problem in a narrow range (root cause), without taking into account the variety and dynamics of changes in external factors.

  • These methods are generally not creative as they are limited to solving the problem of "recovery to the state before failure", while the external situation changes rapidly and the previous state may not be good enough to the new requirements of the environment.

  • Creating new solutions to adapt to multidirectional dependencies requires creative solutions, and companies commonly lack processes and competences to create them.

  • Commonly used methods of generating ideas in the form of free brainstorming and group discussion combined with voting are the biggest blockage of creative processes.

TRY CREATIVE SOLUTIONS DESIGN WITH US (CSD)

Idea 2.png
  • CSD is a team creative and systemic solution design method designed for our clients ,   , to be used in every field of activity to design solutions, products, services and problem solving.

  • The method is based on the currently leading concepts of designing changes and innovation in times of constant change - Design Thinking, Design Sprint, Agile, excellent in new technology industries

  • In KPR - we supplemented it with System Thinking, analytical tools to ensure its effectiveness needed in traditional industries and other areas.

  • The subject of our offer is training, preparation and moderating workshops or implementation of the method at the client's

energetic workshops consisting of a sequence of observations, interviews, asking questions and analyzing answers , conducted exercises , creating prototypes or thought experiments , combining individual (creating) and team (deciding) activities.

Learning, developing, dynamic.

The CSD DOES NOT REQUIRE KNOWLEDGE OF METHODS OR SPECIALIZATION

IN THIS TOPIC

Only commitment is required,

AHA, one more ...

CREATIVITY IS FORCED. ANALYSIS AND CRITICISM

WITHOUT LIMITS

IN SIMPLER WORDS, CSD IS:

In the CSD, we provide Creativity through Control

CSD IS A COMPLETE AND EFFECTIVE SOLUTION

Covers the whole process : from an unclear sense of the need for change to a solid, innovative and proven solution,

SCOPE OF APPLICATION: FROM SOLVING A SINGLE PROBLEM TO DESIGNING AN INNOVATIVE SERVICE OR A BUSINESS MODEL OF THE COMPANY.

EFFECTS OF THE WORKSHOPS FOR CREATIVE SOLUTION DESIGN

  • Creative solutions, carefully selected from among many options, checked for the possibility of influencing the company and customers in the form of a proven prototype, confronted with the opinions of recipients.

  • Opportunity for sustained and rapid increase in value through innovation as opposed to the classic problem solving process that focuses on restoring the system to the situation it was before "failure."

  • An important effect is the learning of team members in the action learning process

WHAT YOU WILL GAIN BY USING THE CSD
Idea 2.png

Competitive

advantage

through innovation

Creative workshops bring solutions that are different from those dominating the market. Innovation is the driving force behind sales. Provided it meets the customer's needs , it is technical

realizable and worthwhile.

These conditions are checked at each stage of the CSD project implementation

In the CSD we use the general concept of value because the financial factor is not always a determinant of value

wzrost.png

The following elements of the process ensure the high quality of CSD solutions:

  • High level of creativity through "forced creativity"

  • Much emphasis on examining the surroundings of the initial problem and carrying out impact analyzes

  • The process of analyzing the effects of a solution

  • Project iteration Strict control of compliance with the requirements

High quality

developed solutions

Solutions for particularly difficult situations

  • Obstacles and limitations encountered in the process (CSD) always increase the quality of the solution.

  • Therefore, Creativity allows you to eliminate conflicts and interests between those involved in the company

  • CSD uses the tools of systems analysis, critical thinking and decision making

Increase in employee involvement and competences

Working in a project group of the management and crew representatives builds their commitment and responsibility for the entire change process. We rely on their knowledge and competences, which we supplement during work. Joint development of the concept of changes instead of providing ready-made solutions motivates the team, reduces resistance and develops the competence to design solutions

Motywacja.png

Shortening the implementation time and acceptance in the organization

We focus our attention on the needs of people involved in the operation of the company: owners, customers, employees, and the local community. By engaging employees in changes within the company, we increase their sense of security and influence. Both of these factors have a key impact on the acceptance of introduced changes, the time of their implementation, their effectiveness and durability

One universal change management process

Creative Solution Design is in its essence complete process of effective change management. From recognizing the right need for change, possibilities of action, through preparation and testing, to the final assessment of suitability and implementation planning and the implementation itself.
The way of conducting the project in the form of a project group ensures communication with the entire organization and clients

WHEN IS IT WORTH TO USE THE CSD WORKSHOPS?

The subject of the workshop can be any project of change in the organization or outside it. It is worth using it when:

  • The expected effect of the solution will be worth involving a group of employees and experts

  • There is a need for the team to focus on a very specific problem and there is time pressure

  • There is no obvious solution to your challenge, and the problem is so significant and difficult that employees from different groups must work together to find a solution.

  • Perfect for starting product concept innovation, discovering possibilities, inventing original concepts and testing them and planning implementation

DESIGN THINKING CYCLE

01 EMPATHY

GET TO KNOW THE USER

GET TO KNOW THE USER

01 EMPATHY

We get to know the user's problems and their needs. We take care of the proper selection of user representatives. We observe, conduct interviews, work together with users. We experience what they do. We take care of contact with the entire spectrum of users.

WE REDEFINE THE PROBLEM

02 DEFINITION

As a result of observations and contacts with users, we redefine the problem. We separate expectations from needs and define the area of the solution, focusing on the explicit and hidden needs of users. We define the challenge in such a way as to enable the widest possible spectrum of solutions.

WE GENERATE IDEAS

03 CREATION

Creative ideas are generated through a formalized process that forces participants to step out of the obvious path of thought. This happens by questioning assumptions and forcing the use of aliens

operation models and generating additional constraints. In this way, using the team's potential, we go beyond the obvious solutions

WE CREATE PROTOTYPES

04 PROTOTYPES

We create the simplest visions of the solution and evaluate their usefulness. We visualize, role-play and build prototypes. We try many solutions at the same time. We remove defects from prototypes and adopted assumptions and concepts

WE TEST AND IMPROVE

05 TESTING

We test solutions in an authentic environment with its users. Thanks to this, we get to know user 01 and his problem 02 even better. We generate new ideas 03. We improve prototypes 04 , improve understanding of the solution, test 05

WE VERIFY THE SOLUTION

06 VERIFICATION

We verify the suitability of the solution and test it in various conditions. Depending on the type of the created solution, we use various verification methods, pilot and market versions. We carry out a full risk analysis. In case of no solution, we go back to the beginning to 01 EMPATHY

GET TO KNOW THE SYSTEM

A1 SYSTEM

THINKING

We learn about phenomena, patterns, structures, and mental models, defining the interdependencies between factors influencing the customer, product, employees, and the company. The image of the system developed by the team becomes a reference point for current and future decisions. This picture complements the information obtained at stage 01 EMPATIZATION

WE INTENSIFY THE PROCESS

B2 DESIGN

SPRINT

We use the Design Sprint methodology to speed up the process. Especially useful in redefining the problem. Due to the high complexity of problems and limitations, when designing an organization, it requires more elements that give an objective, measurable image of the organization. Depending on the topic, the creative process is shortened or extended.

WE INSPIRE AND FORCE

C3 CONTROLLED CREATIVITY

We use methods that enhance or even force creativity to cause participants who do not practice creative methods to change their mindsets. In the first case, they are inspired by the use of the most creative solutions, and in the second case, they are forced to follow the patterns (SCAPMPER, TRIZ, Global Trends)

WE INCREASE COMMITMENT

D4 INDIVIDUAL TEAMWORK

We increase the effectiveness of creative sessions by separating individual and team work at different stages of the session. In this way, we prevent the loss of the most creative solutions through group thinking dysfunctions or succumbing to strong personalities.

WE TEST AND IMPROVE

E5 CRITICAL

THINKING

During the session we teach and pay special attention to the principles of logical thinking, critical thinking, inference and structural decision making. In cases where reliable testing is not possible (e.g. for designing organizational changes or processes), you can use thought-based or system models

WE INSURE CREATIVITY

F6 RISK

MANAGEMENT

Due to the limitations of the testing possibilities and to ensure the possibility of implementing the most creative and effective solutions, we have included risk management tools and methods in the creative process

SAMPLE COURSE OF THE CSD

It shows the general flow of the session. Depending on the subject of the issue, it may differ in terms of implementation methods and DURATION. Contrary to Google's Design Sprint method, we do not specify the duration of the CSD sprint, depending on the type of issue, it may last from 1 to 4 days. The presented example is a 4-step one stage means 1 day, it serves projects such as implementing a new product or service, or designing an innovative value proposition for the customer. The full CSD process can be effective in no less than 1 day.

STAGE 0

Before the beginning of the NRP
Initial understanding of the problem
We are planning a workshop

  • We meet with clients to get to know and understand their problem, product or service idea or other change in the way they do business.

  • We identify and select stakeholders who have the greatest impact on the success of the project.

  • We agree with clients the preparatory work on the client's side.

  • We define the manner of implementing the CSD sprint, specifying the expected number of days

Pink%2520Sand_edited_edited.jpg

STAGE 1

Insight into the problem

Learning Purpose and Gathering Information

System Map

Organize Information - Defined Goals

  • Getting to know the method and tools of the CSD.

  • Description of the challenge provided by the decision maker / owner of the problem.

  • Expert interviews with those involved - a map of needs

  • Result: Understanding the real problems, needs, motivations and expectations of users.

  • Creating various visions of the solution and selecting the final goal of the project

  • Creating a system map - involved, processes, dependencies

  • Creating a list of the greatest challenges for the project

  • Inspiring the team with solutions, products or services

  • We visualize everything - Problems, goals, ideas, inspiration

  • Individual solution vision of each participant

Pink%2520Sand_edited_edited.jpg

STAGE 2

System image - Idea visualization - Storyboarding

Decisions- Selection of the first version. Storyboarding

  • Getting the participants acquainted with the prepared concepts

  • Defining minimum requirements for the solution

  • Creation of a matrix of requirements and possibilities for each concept

  • Creation of intermediate variants

  • Choosing the best concept for further work that meets the requirements

  • We complement the selected concept with ideas from other concepts

  • Creating a visualization for a selected concept.

Pink%2520Sand_edited_edited.jpg

STAGE 3

Prototyping

Selected Ways and Tools

Analyzes and corrections

  • We choose tools to build a prototype of a solution (interfaces for applications, paper versions of products, tools for process modeling for organizational changes

  • We build prototypes of the solution

  • We analyze their suitability in relation to the defined initial requirements and created concepts in the early stage of the prototype development

  • We check the possibilities of effective prototype testing

Pink%2520Sand_edited_edited.jpg

STAGE 4

Testing

Testing scenarios

Testing scenography

Correction Testing

Validation of the sprint effect

  • Introducing invited customers to the process, users who will test the prepared prototype of the solution (not necessarily the same users who were involved on day 1)

  • Preparation of user testing infrastructure and test course (questions)

  • Testing1 - Corrections - Testing2

  • Conclusions, product documentation, recommendations

  • Result : Problem solved tested ideas in a targeted and measurable way.
